Manager Information Package

Discipline Procedures

Each playing surface will have an Official-in-Charge/Supervisor on site.

  • Home teams are responsible for their spectators. Any unruly fan may receive a warning or may be asked to leave immediately by on-floor officials or tournament volunteers.

  • Individuals instructed to leave will have one minute (two shot clocks) to exit.

  • Failure to leave promptly will result in the forfeit of the game currently being played.

All referee decisions on the floor are final. There will be no video review of on-floor rulings.

Discipline & Appeals Committee

To submit an appeal to the Provincials Discipline & Appeals Committee:

  • A $300 non-refundable fee must accompany the appeal.

  • Appeals must be submitted in writing within 30 minutes of the game’s conclusion.

  • If the game sheet does not list a conclusion time, the scheduled end time will be used.

  • If a game or portion of a game is ordered to be replayed, the fee will be refunded after completion.

  • Committee decisions are final, unless the sanction extends beyond the tournament.

Opening Ceremony

The SALA/MHLC Provincial Committee will host an Opening Ceremony at:

  • Location: Kinplex Arena

  • Date: Friday, July 10

  • Time: 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory.

Teams are invited to wear jerseys or team apparel and bring any league championship banners or trophies.

Concessions

Both facilities have on-site concessions and are located near restaurants and grocery stores.

Dressing Rooms

Dressing room assignments will be posted on arena display screens.

Game Sheets

Electronic game sheets will be used.

Access codes will be emailed to team managers, are available on site, and will autopopulate to each team's app.

Divisions & Structure

U13B, U15B, U17B  

  • Two Pool Round Robin (6 teams total, each team plays a min three games).

    • All teams ranked from 1 to 6 based on points in round robin games and then the application of any tie breakers as necessary. Semi-final is 1st v. 4th and 2nd v. 3rd. Winner of each semi-final plays for Gold, Loser of each semi-final plays for Bronze.

U13A, U15A, U17A  

  • Best-of-three series.

    • Game 3 played only if necessary.

Game Operations
  • Game times: The ALA Regulation on maintaining floor time will be in force during round robin games. Clocks will drop to 2 minutes with 5 minutes remaining in floor times at the referees direction.

  • Home teams must be prepared to change jerseys if requested by officials.

  • Shot Clock: Operated by an ALRA official.

  • Time Clock: Provided by the visiting team.

  • Game Sheet: Provided by the home team.

  • Penalty box attendants: Provided by both teams.

Overtime

Handled according to ALA Regulations, which is only in knockout and medal games

Tie-Breaking Procedures

In accordance with ALA Regulation 6A.09 teams that are tied in standings:

  1. Two-team tie:

    • Winner of the head-to-head game advances.

    • If still tied, apply the Goal Average Formula (below).

  2. Three or more teams tied:

    • If one team has defeated all others in the tie group, that team advances.

    • Otherwise, apply the Goal Average Formula using only games between tied teams.

Goals For÷(Goals For+Goals Against)

This formula is applied once to rank all tied teams.

Mechanical / Hand Cranked Air Horns
  • Drill-powered and manual crank air horns and any other mechanical noisemakers are prohibited. Only human driven air horns or noisemakers are allowed. Anyone who violates this rule will be asked to leave the facility, and the team they are associated with may forfeit points.
